This is a Hida Shunkei lacquer Bonbonniere. In France, a vessel used to hold sugar confections is called a "bonbonniere" and is used for celebrations as a "vessel of happiness".

It is a rare Hida Shunkei lacquer product with Japanese Makie (a Japanese lacquer decoration technique). Makie of cherry blossoms is drawn on the four sides of the lid.
