The outer part of the tea canister is made of cherry bark which brings out the natural appearance of the bark of the wild cherry tree as it is, allowing the wearer to experience the texture of the bark, including the unevenness of the knots. The more you use it, the more the color will change to a more subdued tone. By removing the knob on the inner lid, the design is not only simple but also allowing the inner lid to be used as a tea spoon when putting tea leaves into a tea pot.
